Current Research

Currently, we are developing Automatic Visual Hematology Analyzer which performs differential blood counting.

The visual microscope is a must use in all clinical laboratories especially in hematology. When an abnormality is suspected, manual visual microscopy is a must do even if automatic non-visual counters exist. The manual process is tedious and subjective. The project goal is to help hematologist to speed up the visual inspection process by automatically scan and capture the White Blood Cells (WBCs) and pre-classify them. This also helps in digitally store the blood images and help in applications such as telepathology.

Below are a couple of sample blood image sets which we use in our system development.

  1. Blood slide 1
  2. Blood slide 2
  3. Blood slide 3
  4. Blood slide 4
